How we got here

• 5 September 2025 — a proposal for Corstorphine in Bloom was put to the Corstorphine and Clermiston Community Council.
• 5 October 2025 — the project was formally launched.
• 7 October 2025 — the first meeting took place with the Council.
• December 2025 — discussions began with Edinburgh Zoo about how it could support the project.
• Late January 2026 — volunteers were invited to come forward.
• Feb/Mar — many meetings with Council staff, with support from local councillors
• April – 9 businesses want planters
• May – meeting with seniort councnil officails and way forward agreed
• June – first planters planted, 30 volunteers meet

What happens next

• May 2026 – begin the first approved planter installations where arrangements are in place.
• June 2026 – install the first barrel planter and expand visible planting.
• Summer 2026 – build on the first phase and share regular updates.
• Autumn 2026 – produce plans for shopping streets for public consultation
