🌼Help Brighten Corstorphine’s Shopping Areas
Corstorphine in Bloom is working with local businesses and the City of Edinburgh Council to brighten shopping areas with planters and hanging baskets.
We are now gathering expressions of interest from businesses that would like to take part, support the project, or receive updates.
If enough businesses come forward, the Council is more likely to support the initiative.
You do not need to commit to anything at this stage.

🌿 Ways Your Business Can Get Involved
You can choose one or more options below:
🌸 Install Hanging Baskets
Show your support by installing and maintaining hanging baskets outside your premises.
🪴 Install a Narrow Planter outside your premises
In some locations, a narrow planter may be possible outside your premises, subject to Council inspection and approval.
🪴 Sponsor a Planter
Sponsor an existing or new planter in your shopping area. Sponsorship may include signage or branding, in line with Council guidance.
💧 Provide Water Access
Allow volunteers occasional access to a water tap to help water nearby planters and baskets.
📩 Receive the Business Newsletter
Stay updated with progress, funding news, Council approvals, planting days and local success stories.
Why Get Involved?
Taking part can help your business:
- improve the appearance of the shopping area;
- show visible support for the local community;
- strengthen links with neighbouring businesses;
- contribute to a positive and practical local project;
- help build the case for Council support.
Even a small amount of support can make a visible difference.
What Happens Next?
Once we know how businesses would like to be involved:
- we will keep a record of interested supporters;
- we will review where there is enough interest to move forward;
- where needed, we will discuss possible planter locations and Council approval;
- we will contact businesses again with the next practical steps.
Registering interest does not commit you to costs or ongoing work.
