🌼Help Brighten Corstorphine

Corstorphine in Bloom is working with local businesses and the City of Edinburgh Council to brighten shopping areas with planters and hanging baskets. This could include schools, churches, resident groups, youth groups, charities, sports clubs and other local organisations

We are now inviting community groups to register their interest in supporting the project. This could be through practical help, sponsorship, watering support, or simply staying in touch with progress.

If enough community groups come forward, it will strengthen the case for wider Council backing and help show that this is a project with real local support.

There is no commitment at this stage — just an expression of interest.

🌿 Ways Your Community Group Can Get Involved

You can choose one or more options below:

🪴Adopt a Planter

Help look after a local planter by arranging occasional watering and light weeding. Even 15 minutes from time to time can make a visible difference.

🪴 Sponsor a Planter

Support an existing or new planter in your area. Sponsorship may include signage, in line with Council guidance.

💧 Provide Water Access

If your group has access to an outdoor tap, occasional help with water can support nearby planters and baskets.

Taking part can help your business:

  • show visible support for the local community;

Even a small amount of support can make a visible difference.

What Happens Next?

Once we know how many community groups would like to be involved:

  1. we will keep a record of interested groups and organisations;
  2. we will review where there is enough interest to move forward;
  3. where needed, we will discuss possible planter locations and Council approval;
  4. we will contact groups again with the next practical steps.
