Pinkhill Station Project

Pinkhill Station could become a brighter, friendlier and more welcoming gateway to Corstorphine.

One of our supporters is exploring a community-led project to improve the station area, beginning with ideas for artwork in and around the tunnel. If this develops well, a later stage could also include improvements to the platform area, such as artwork on the walls and possibly planters.

This project is still at an early stage, so we are currently gathering ideas, support and expressions of interest from local people.

Why Pinkhill Station?

Pinkhill Station sits beside the popular walking and cycling path running from Paddockholm to Balgreen, so it is seen and used by many local people every day. Improving it could make a real difference to how this part of the area feels.

The station also has a distinctive local story. Animals for Edinburgh Zoo arrived here by train in 1914, so wildlife-themed artwork is one of the many ideas being considered.

What is being considered?

At this stage, possible ideas include:

  • artwork in the tunnel area
  • wildlife or heritage themes linked to the stationโ€™s history
  • planting or planters on the platform

No final decisions have been made yet. We want to hear from people who use the station, live nearby, or would simply like to help shape the project.
