Green Spaces and Flood Risk Maps

We’ve brought together two interactive maps to help residents, community groups and local partners understand Corstorphine and Clermiston’s green spaces and where flooding may be a concern. These maps help us think about planting, biodiversity, nature connections and climate resilience.

Corstorphine green spaces

This map brings together mapped green spaces in the area, including parks and other open spaces. It is a starting point for exploring how places might be connected for wildlife, pollinators and people. Mapped areas do not necessarily mean public access or that land is available for planting.

Flood probabilities

This map shows modelled flood probabilities around Corstorphine and Clermiston, using SEPA flood-risk mapping. It can help identify areas worth investigating when planning planting and greener spaces. The coloured areas are estimates of where flooding might occur under different scenarios, not a record of places that have actually flooded. Local conditions and more detailed assessments may differ.

Why are we mapping this?

Corstorphine in Bloom wants to link individual planters, gardens, parks and other green spaces into a more connected, wildlife-friendly neighbourhood. Looking at green spaces alongside flood probabilities can help us identify where planting, pollinator corridors, rain gardens and other practical improvements might make a difference. These maps are tools for discussion and planning, not final proposals.

Explore the maps using the layers and zoom controls, and share ideas for places that could benefit from more greenery or better connections.
